As the start of the 2024 NFL season approaches, the Atlanta Falcons will prepare for the Raheem Morris era to roll out. And while the team will hit the field with a new coaching regime, there will be plenty of familiar faces that could crank out impactful seasons. NFL Network analyst Bucky Brooks listed offensive guard Matthew Bergeron on his All-Breakout Team.

“I think it’s logical to say that Bergeron has a kind of breakout year," said Mike Johnson. "I think that’s the logical next step when you have a guy that started all 17 games as a rookie."

And while agreeing with Johnson, Morgan questioned how fans would understand what a breakout season for the second-year offensive guard would look like. Johnson explained that while he may not be able to “quantify to a fan” what they should be looking for, he shared what he believes would lead to Bergeron having a breakout season.

“I think it’s comfortability when you’re a rookie. I cannot say this enough, how impressive he was last year,” Johnson said. “Not only is he making the transition in the NFL, but he’s moving from left tackle to guard and he’s doing all of this at a very, very high level."
