After another heartbreaking and gut wrenching loss the Atlanta Falcons are now 4-8, and staring down the barrel of another losing season where they don’t make the playoffs, and with all of that comes more outrage from Falcons fans that want Falcons owner Arthur Blank to ‘clean house’, but earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Atlanta cleaning house after this season may end up being counterproductive.
“You just can’t do that in organizations where you’re begging for stability every couple years because you turn into a revolving door, and it’s hard to get quality people to take you seriously, and when I say quality people I’m not talking about GMs, and not just really just scouts either, or coaches I’m talking about trainers and the people that are the backbone of the organization that you don’t know the names of and you don’t see.” Beau Morgan said
Beau finished his thought by saying “When you flip over and clean house you affect those too and it gets hard for people to buy in, the quality people who want to come at those positions and do it.”
The Falcons do need to make some changes at the end of the season and probably will, but Atlanta also still has good pieces in place like a good young quarterback, very good young offensive playmakers, a solid offensive line , and a really good defense that has a good young core of players with a really good defensive coordinator, and if you clean house a lot of good things that don’t need to change will change which could hurt the team more than maybe just making some selective changes this offseason.
