It's one of the major talking points for 31 NFL teams, how close are we to accomplishing what the Eagles just accomplished. It's an answer that certainly varies depending on how this past season played out, and for the Falcons it played out quite disappointingly. So how close are the Falcons to being true Super Bowl contenders?
"The Falcons can make the playoffs this year on the assumption that Michael Penix plays up t the potential that he showed, but to win big, they're so deficient in so many areas, I think they're two drafts and a splash free agent signing away from a Super Bowl," says Andy Bunker of The Midday Show.
"Games are always won in the trenches, I look at the Falcons line, I think the Falcons can win a Super Bowl with this offensive line," says Randy McMichael. "When you talk about what Philly just did, it's a process. They're not an offseason away. They can win the NFC South, but they're now built to win the (Super) Bowl."
