Ever since reports came out over the weekend that the Cincinnati Bengals are listening to trade offers for pass rusher Trey Hendrickson with contract talks between the two parties at an impasse again, Atlanta Falcons fans have been giving their take on social media that the Falcons should trade Jalon Walker, Kyle Pitts, and a first round pick for Hendrickson, or put together some type of trade package of that nature.

Well, earlier today The Morning Shift explained why they think it wouldn’t be a great decision for the Falcons to include their 15th overall pick in any sort of trade package for Hendrickson.

“I just look at Jalon Walker and I think he could be one of the most versatile and dominant defensive players the next 10 years, and it’s hard for me just to say bye to him and give up another first round pick for Trey Hendrickson or just for him and Trey Hendrickson straight up.” Beau Morgan said

Beau also talked about how giving up a 21-year old player in Walker, who’s on a rookie deal, for a 30-year-old player in Hendrickson who Atlanta would have to sign to a deal that pays him roughly $40 million-dollars a year would also make that trade “hard” to do.

Adding Trey Hendrickson to this team would help a lot this year, and maybe for the next two or three years, but keeping and developing Jalon Walker could help the Falcons for the next decade plus like Beau said. Also, Walker could end up being a better and more versatile player than Hendrickson anyway.

It doesn’t seem like or feel like the Falcons would include Jalon in any sort of trade package for Hendrickson, and that seems like the best choice because even though he’s a rookie Walker could still very well help the Falcons win now and in the future, and Trey Hendrickson is much more of a win now near future move, while keeping and developing Walker is a also win now and long term future move.
