Matt Ryan has made a decision about his future, or more specifically, his very immediate future.

The former Falcons and Colts QB announced in a tweet this morning that he's headed to CBS as an in-studio and game analyst across all streaming platforms.

"It is truly an honor to join this exceptional team at CBS Sports," Ryan said in a statement. "I have been blessed to have incredible teammates throughout my career and I am fortunate that will continue here working with and learning from the very best in the industry."

After becoming the third overall pick in the 2008 draft out of Boston College, the 2017 NFL MVP spent the first 14 years of his career in Atlanta, becoming the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards (59,735), and passing touchdowns (361). He ranks seventh and ninth respectively all-time in NFL history in both categories. His best season as pro came in that 2017 MVP season, where he led the Falcons to an NFC title, and Super Bowl LI birth against the eventual champion New England Patriots. Ryan threw for 4.944 yards and 38 TDs.

Ryan spent the 2022 season as a member of the Colts, after being traded for a 2022 third round draft pick. He recorded a career low 14 TD passes, while being benched twice.

This move to the booth will likely give Matt a chance to catch on with a QB needy team at some point during the season. A current free agent, Matt's CBS deal won't likely stop him from being to join a team at any point during the season. He's still scheduled to earn $12 million from the Colts this season after being released in mid-March.
