After entering the 2025 NFL season as one of the most talked about teams and what was predicted to be one of the most explosive offenses in the league this year, the Atlanta Falcons have suddenly found themselves in the midst of “most disappointing” conversations as they currently sit at 3-4 on the season following back to back losses and lacking the anticipated explosiveness.
Now with preparations for Sunday’s matchup with the New England Patriots entering the final stages, and the Falcons working towards addressing some of the challenges they have had offensively, on Friday, when joined by Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell searched for an answer in regards to the Falcons being able to fix their offensive red zone issues against New England.
“I think the Patriots have room to improve their,” Volin said as he explained why he believes the Patriots, who are last in the NFL in red zone defense with a 70.59 percentage in allowing teams to score a touchdown once inside the 20-yard line. “Their red zone percentage is among the lower in the league,” Volin said, however noting the Patriots are still one of the top teams in points allowed.
And while one would like to believe the Falcons may be able to take advantage of New England’s NFL worse red zone defense, unfortunately Atlanta has one of the worst offenses in the red zone at 45 percent.
