The Atlanta Hawks are entering a new era as it was reported on Wednesday night they traded guard, Trae Young to the Washington Wizards in exchange for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert and on Thursday, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell explained why they believe the success of the team now falls on the shoulders of head coach, Quin Snyder.
“It’s a shame that it didn’t work out here with Trae (Young),” Bell said as he explained why he understands there being a sentiment of disappointment in regards to the Hawks’ decision to move on from Young after eight seasons of the four-time All-Star being the face of the franchise. “It just wasn’t working,” Bell said of the failed relationship between Young and Atlanta.
And now with the reins to the team presumable being turned over to Jalen Johnson to lead the hawks, Dukes and Bell also shared their thoughts on why Snyder will have more pressure on him to turn the Hawks into a winning franchise.
“Prove it now. Yes, we should be better defensively,” Bell said as he expressed his concern over the lack of defense played by the Hawks. “This team has got to be better,” Bell added.
