“He was a sixth round pick out of Yale, when he was drafted I specifically remember talking about depth, he was a guy that we didn’t expect that was going to be on the field and as a matter of fact he made not have made the team,” Dukes said. “He comes in he picks up on DQ’s defense, learns it he starts to get playing time, last year as the defense changed he played a different position and led the league in tackles, one hundred and ninety two. We talk about Bobby Wagner who Seattle let go, we said he’s still productive he’s a five time all-pro guy, he had more tackles than Wagner, Roquan Smith, all these guys.”

Dukes talked about the contract the Jaguars gave Oluokun.

“So for what he accomplished last year the resume screams he deserves to get paid, the problem is we didn’t have the twenty-eight million in guarantees to give him. His new deal with Jacksonville three years forty-five million dollars it could go up to forty-six with incentives but it’s twenty-eight million fully guaranteed. The Falcons don’t have that kind of money under the cap so we were stuck, did we want to keep Foye Oluokun? Absolutely, I think they work to try to keep him but in reality when you don’t have the money like some of these other teams that we’re going up against it’s difficult to keep and retain the guys that you want to keep.”
