The Falcons quarterback room got a little bit smaller this evening.
According to various media reports, Atlanta is sending backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke to the Los Angeles Chargers for a conditional sixth round pick in the 2025 draft.
For the Chargers, this move bolsters their QB depth behind starter Justin Herbert with a guy that has previous starting experience in the league. Heinicke has started 29 games in his career, with a 13-15-1 record.
In trading Taylor, the Falcons clear just over a million dollars in cap space. Taylor started four games for the Falcons last season, throwing for 890 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions.
