Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, who has made recent headlines for all the wrong reasons, has a wide range of draft expectations ranging from as high as third round to as low as undrafted. But in a QB-driven league, he's sure to find a fit somewhere.
Could that fit potentially be in Atlanta? John and Hugh discuss the possibility that the Falcons bring Bennett in later in the draft to back up Desmond Ridder.
"If Ridder were to struggle out of the gate, the calls for Stetson Bennett to be your Brock Purdy, he fits the mold," explains Fricke. "The idea of Stetson being on the Falcons would lead to the fan base to be screaming for Stetson Bennett to get a shot."
Of course this is with the assumption that the Falcons stick with Ridder as starter and are hoping to set him up for success as much as possible. If the team dives into free agency with Lamar Jackson, Jimmy Garoppolo, or any other higher-tier QB, Bennett as a late-round pick may not cause the issue it would if the hopes and dreams of the Falcons are all on Desmond Ridder.
