All training camp fights aren’t made the same, and while the skirmishes the Atlanta Falcons had at practice on Sunday may’ve gone a little too far Atlanta Falcons General Manager Terry Fontenot told The Morning Shift earlier today that “you’d rather have guys you gotta pull back than guys you gotta push".
“You have these really competitive groups that are doing whatever they can do to go out there and battle and I know coaches have said it ,we gotta go to that line and not cross that line, you’d rather have guys you gotta pull back than guys you gotta push, you know so we’d rather have that and so we know we’ll manage it the right way and make sure we’re doing things the right way, and protecting our team in those ways, but we love that we have guys that are that passionate and that competitive.” Fontenot said
Over the last few seasons the Falcons have seemed to lack players with that edge and competitive fire that aren’t afraid to push the envelope or be an enforcer and get in an opposing players’ face when the situation calls for it, but now with Drake London, Matthew Bergeron, James Pearce Jr., and others it seems like the Falcons finally have that group of guys that will never lack that extra intensity that every team needs every so often.
