The Chicago Bears won’t be the toughest team the Falcons have played against this season, but playing in Soldier Field in December on New Year’s Eve against a team that actually matches up well with the Falcons is the perfect combination to make this matchup with the Bears on Sunday the toughest test for Atlanta so far. Earlier today on The Midday Show Mike Johnson and Randy McMichael explained why Sunday’s game against the Bears will be the Falcons toughest game of the season.
Later in the show the guys were joined by 92.9 The Game’s own Atlanta Falcons reporter Joe Patrick, and he agreed that this will be the Falcons toughest game to date. “It’s going to be really tough sledding I think for the Falcons to play the kind of game that they were able to play against the Colts last week.” Joe also pointed to the Falcons recent struggles on the road saying “this team does not really go on the road and win very often”. This season the Falcons are 2-5 on the road.
The Falcons MUST win AND need the Buccaneers to lose to the Saints this week in order to stay in playoff contention heading into the final week of the regular season, and neither of those feats will be easy to get on Sunday.
