With the 2023 NFL Draft approaching and mock drafts dropping seemingly every day, the Atlanta Falcons appear to be in the run for a range of position players from mocks that have Jalen Carter dropping to the Falcons at No. 8 to some others that say Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez being the first pick of the draft for Atlanta.

And while many believe the Falcons will address the defensive side of the ball first with the No. 8 overall pick, there are a few draft experts that believe Atlanta could target Texas running back Bijan Robinson. Jon Chuckery spoke with NFL writer Eric Edholm about how that pick could make sense for the Falcons.

“You look at the Falcons and say, ‘OK, does it make sense after we just drafted a fifth-round running back that picked up 1,000 yards in seven starts last year, do we go draft a running back again at number eight in the first round,’” Chuckery asked Edholm.

Chuckery continued to share with Edholm that in his opinion, Robinson is an “interesting” because while he believes the Falcons must address “getting to the quarterback”, adding a player as dynamic as Robinson would not be such a bad move with the eight pick.

“Look, we’re in a league now where the run game is cycling back in," Edholm said in his response to Chuckery. "You need multiple backs to compete.”
