Former Falcons quarterback and current Atlanta Falcons Radio Network Analyst, Dave Archer told The Morning Shift early Monday that he believes Matthew Bergeron’s transition from tackle to guard will be “seamless.”

Mike Johnson, who is a former Falcons offensive lineman that has played all five positions on the offensive line, says the Bergeron pick is his “favorite” pick. “He’s the guy to me that stands out the most as he’s gonna be a plug-and-play guy from Day 1 and he fits what we need to do.”

One reason Archer “loves” the Falcons second-round pick is because of Bergeron’s intelligence. “This guy supposedly is off of the charts when it comes to his mental makeup.

“Obviously the toughness and the size, the physicality is there, you see it on tape, but everything you hear about with the mental makeup is off the charts with this guy, so I think his transition should be one that be fairly seamless.”

The Falcons have seemed to fill the final major hole of their team. After trading up to get him, the Falcons have high hopes and expectations for the rookie out of Syracuse to not only be the starting left guard of the future, but the starting left guard this upcoming season.
