Why you shouldn’t overreact to the Falcons preseason finale

The Morning Shift explains why what you saw from the Falcons last night is nothing to be concerned about

Some Atlanta Falcons fans may be questioning the depth of the team after Atlanta’s second and third string players gave up 17 points to the Steelers starters in the first quarter. However, earlier today on The Morning Shift, Beau Morgan explained why Falcons fans shouldn’t overreact to what they saw last night in the Falcons preseason finale.

“The fan reaction to what we saw last night was if that’s our depth we’re in trouble, but you’re not going to see that team all play together against another team’s ones, so when you have guys to me like DeMarcco Hellams play well, when you have guys like Joe Gaziano when they play well they show you something I think that’s really good.” Morgan said.

Having depth guys who shined against the starters of a really solid football team in the Pittsburgh Steelers is “a good sign” to Beau and should be a good sign to all Falcons fans.

Also, the main thing to remember is that it’s preseason. There was no in depth gameplanning by Head Coach Arthur Smith and the Falcons, Atlanta’s Defensive Coordinator, Ryan Nielsen, didn’t show off any crazy scheme to stop the Steelers, and it was all very vanilla as far as play calling and scheme goes for the Falcons.

The regular season starts two weeks from Sunday, and when this Falcons team is coming up with a game plan, playing all of their starters, and showing you what they’re really capable of, you won’t see what you saw last night.
