The Atlanta Hawks got to a point this season where they felt like the team wasn't going in the right direction. Travis Schlenk then made the decision to fire Lloyd Pierce.
There hasn't been a consensus as to whether or not Pierce got a fair shake at it. He was a first time head coach who, in his first two years, was a part of an organization that really wasn't trying to win games.
Kurt Helin, of NBC Sports, joined the Jon Chuckery show to try to make some sense of the Lloyd Pierce's firing. "It was just time" Helin said.
There were some relationships that Pierce just wasn't going to be able to repair. Plus, he was a lame duck coach who was in the last year of his contract. With Nate McMillan taking over, hopefully the Hawks brass will be satisfied at the end of the year.
