The Hawks season got off to a great start despite having numerous offseason additions start off the year with injuries. The Hawks went to 4-1 before falling back to earth a bit as depth issues arose.
When a few of those guys the team had been missing finally took the court, Atlanta faced even more injury issues when De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic went down.
Bogdanovic has since returned, Tony Snell has put in some key minutes and made some key shots, and the Hawks have gone on a five-game win streak. But the team is still waiting for De'Andre Hunter, who had arguably been the team's second-best player this year, to get back and are also still awaiting the debut of defensive-minded guard Kris Dunn.
Hawks GM Travis Schlenk joined John and Hugh on Tuesday morning ahead of the game with the Houston Rockets and updated the status of a few key players.
"He's (De'Andre Hunter) going to go on the road trip and that's been the plan, to play on the road trip, and fingers crossed we might see him as early as Thursday, we're getting close," says Schlenk.
That's definitely good news for the Hawks who could get Hunter back ahead of schedule.
