Hawks relying on chemistry to keep them among Eastern Conference elite

The Atlanta Hawks spent the early portion of free agency putting together a few long-term deals for their stars Trae Young and John Collins.

To this point, the only players they have added to the roster, besides their draft picks that didn't play for Atlanta last season, are backup guard Delon Wright and backup center Gorgui Dieng.


Despite remaining pretty quiet in pursuit of free agents, the Hawks have to feel good about the potential of their roster heading into the 2021-2022 season.

Atlanta Hawks broadcaster Steve Holman discusses the offseason and why there is some real optimism for another deep run heading into next season despite not adding any pieces.

"The fact that a lot of core guys come back is a big plus in their favor. Some of the other teams in the Eastern Conference will have issues early in the year with chemistry," says Holman. "I think the Hawks are in the top four, and if they get off to a good start, who knows."
