The Atlanta Hawks (2-1) will begin their first road trip of the 2022-23 season with two games against the Detroit Pistons followed by stops in Milwaukee, Toronto, and they will end the trip with a visit to Madison Square Garden to face a New York Knicks team and crowd that always want to send the Hawks home with a loss.
This five-game stretch away from State Farm Arena could provide an early-season reality check to whether or not this revamped version of the Hawks is ready to climb back into the upper echelon of Eastern Conference contenders.
After the disappointing follow-up season to the Hawks remarkable run to the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals, this new squad wants to send a message that they are ready to compete with the NBA elite.
Mike Conti stopped by "The Morning Show with John and Hugh" to discuss the upcoming road trip and shared that “I feel this is a road trip where the Hawks should be able to have some success.”
Conti also went on to point out: “With the exception of Milwaukee, those are teams the Hawks have been predicted to finish over in the Eastern Conference.”
How many wins will Hawks come away with in this early-season road trip?
We will have to wait and see.
