There have been a handful of reports implying that the New Orleans Pelicans could be exploring a trade package for Zion Williamson in this upcoming NBA Draft. This NBA Draft is incredibly interesting on a multitude of levels. This draft has incredible front end talent, and a plethora of teams who can look to trade up and redirect their franchise. That being said, if the Pelicans are willing to trade Zion Williamson, should the Hawks look to get in the conversation?

The Pelicans would essentially be looking to move up in the draft to acquire a player such as Scoot Henderson, but who knows what other opportunities and trade deals could come about. Ryan Hollins joined me on, 2 The Max, and broke down the Pelicans and Zion Williamson trade scenario,“I think it would just be them essentially hitting the reset button. If they did, I don't think it would be a knock to Zion, I think it’s just saying you get a guy in Scoot Henderson who may have a Ja Morant-like impact…” That is certainly one route, but should the Hawks look to offer an alternative?

It is no secret what the Hawks are looking to do this Off-Season, with a new coaching staff and higher expectations. Zion is an incredible talent who’s biggest obstacle seems to be availability. However, a Zion Williamson & Trae Young duo seems like a match made in heaven. Granted, the Hawks would have to trade a lot of their assets to acquire Zion if the Pelicans were interested in such a trade. But if that were the case, Zion could be an explosive piece for the Hawks and would result in a box office offense immediately.
