Atlanta's Police Chief is keeping parade preparations in mind for Braves postseason run

While there is no guarantee, the historic season of the Atlanta Braves could potentially end with a World Series win and that would mean the streets of Atlanta could once again have the 2021 World Champions parading their way through the city in route to Truist Park. With that, the Atlanta Police Department is already on preparing for a celebration down the streets of Atlanta.

“I don’t want to tell the Chief how to do his job, but I’d be looking at parade routes for four or five weeks from now,” 92-9 The Game’s Steak Shapiro said jokingly as he and Sandra Golden spent some time with City of Atlanta Chief of Police, Darin Schierbaum, who joined the midday duo for their Leadership series. “He might have already,” Golden said as she chimed in on the matter and Chief Schierbaum ensured the two that if the Braves bring home another WS championship, the city will be ready.

“We’re going to be ready. Peachtree Street has seen so many celebrations and champions so we’ll have it ready if we need it to be,” Schierbaum told Steak and Sandra detailing some of the manpower that is required for such a celebration. “We often go to 12 hour shifts. We try to avoid cancelling off days for officers, we will if we have to, but we generally go to 12 to put the entire route being covered,” Schierbaum added.
