Dejounte Murray wants to 'make it work' with Trae Young, Hawks

Jon Chuckery discusses with Lauren Williams of the AJC Dejounte Murray wanting to get things going with the Hawks

Earlier this week, 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery shared his thoughts on recent trade rumors that stated the Atlanta Hawks would be willing to move on from Dejounte Murray if the package was right. And while Chuckery’s response to the recent Murray related rumors were that he would not like to see the hawks move on from the guard, in his opinion, he agreed that if Atlanta was presented with the right trade package, not only Murray, but almost every player on the Hawks’ roster could be moved.

On Wednesday, Chcukery spoke with Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Lauren Williams about Murray and if there was any indication that she was aware of that Atlanta could potentially trade Murray or offer him a contract extension. Williams’s told Chuckery that while she was unaware of any talks between Murray and the Hawks in regards to his future with the team, she reminded the evening host that during Murray’s exit interview, he appeared ready to work with Trae Young this off season to get things going in the right direction for the Hawks.

“I can only go off what we’ve heard him say and he’s excited to try and work this thing out with Trae Young and try to get something going,” Williams told Chuckery adding that with Snyder having a very small amount of time with the Hawks’ players this past season as he came in late in the in the second half of the season, Murray, Young and the rest of the team “need a little bit more of a figuring out period,” and that Murray would like to “get this thing going and make it work,”.
