Are Georgia football players about to earn $129,000 apiece?

The State of Georgia has recently announced the allotments for UGA sports payouts to players with UGA will spending $20.5 Million in total. The breakdown will be football players receiving a total of $13.5 Million, Men’s Basketball players getting $2.7 Million, $900,000 being sent to Women's Basketball players, with the remaining sports splitting what is left over.

Also part of the rule is that Georgia’s football team will reduce from 130 athletes to 105, but all of them will be on scholarship. If money is spread evenly (which it may not be), each player would have a "salary" of just under $129,000 before individual NIL opportunities are even factored in. If it's not spread evenly, does that create unwanted division within a team?

One of the more interesting aspects of the new rule will be the intended and the unintended consequences of the payouts, and we won't fully know what those are until at least a season's-worth of payments.
