Bulldogs need to go 'vertical' on offense

The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off of a huge win against the Clemson Tigers. Head coach Kirby Smart is trying to move forward to their next opponent, but there are still quite a few takeaways that can't be moved on from.

The Bulldogs' defense had a really good showing. There were times in the game that D.J. Uiagalelei looked like an average quarterback and not like the big-time recruit that is supposed to make people forget about that Trevor Lawrence guy. Georgia's defense earned its keep by sacking Uiagalelei seven times. The defensive unit, without question, was the unit that shined on Saturday night.


But the offense left a little to be desired.

Chip Towers, of the AJC, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to discuss where the offense needs to go in order for Georgia to get where it wants to be. “They know they got to go vertical, eventually, when they get in to SEC play,” Towers said.

The expectation for Georgia is to be in the SEC Championship Game at the end of the year. Defensively, they are well on their way. But that offense is going to have to find a way to put more points on the board.
