Can Jordan Davis be more than a combine warrior?

As the dust continues to settle on the NFL scouting combine Dukes & Bell had NFL Network’s Charles Davis on the show yesterday who said that Jordan Davis could be a combine warrior. The guys discussed their thoughts on Davis’ future in the NFL.

Carl talked about why he’s sold on Jordan Davis.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that every team they played had to game plan for Jordan Davis, because he’s such a wrecking machine, he is such a guy that commands attention whether it’s one or two guys and some cases three guys to make sure you were trying to protect the middle part of your offensive line. And especially for him to either get pressure or stop the run,” Dukes said. “The thing that I love about him is he’s a run stopper and we’ve talked to Chuck Smith about this time and time again, I don’t know if you can go wrong in this draft. And again they’re not all going to pan out but if you told me Devontae Wyatt, whether it was Zahmir White or Travon Walker, pick your guy.
The one guy I’m willing to roll the dice on and take in the top ten right now right now is Jordan Davis after the combine, I’m sold.”

Mike says he’s not sold Davis is a three down player.

“He’s played two downs his entire college career, that’s a bit of a stretch if you’re gonna take him at number eight, at top ten pick,” Bell said. “That’s why I still go Jermaine Johnson from FSU the former dawg who checks all the boxes at edge rusher, everything you said is accurate it’s just all the matter of can Jordan Davis do it at the NFL level.”
