Georgia Bulldog quarterback DJ Shockley joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the National Championship season that Georgia finished off on Monday night. Shock talked about how Kirby’s Smart mentality helped lead the team to the title and why he thinks Smart can maintain a National Championship level contender at Georgia.

Shockley talked about how Kirby builds depth by getting the young players experience.

“No doubt about, obviously recruiting is a big part of it and he does that like nobody else in the country, and he continues to do it,” says Shockley. “You just look at the guys that are in line, how many of the young guys that played this season. Robert Beal who got a sack in the ballgame, number 33, is a young guy, you’re gonna have Jalen Carter who is coming back who is another young guy. (Kelee) Ringo getting much experience on that corner on the outside, a freshman, there’s so many dudes that are waiting in the wings ready for their time that this will only continue to build.”

Shockley told the guys that Kirby will absolutely sustain this level of play at Georgia.

“Kirby has set it up that way where all these young guys somehow, someway get a piece of the action so that next year when it’s their time, they run into the fold and are ready to go. I don’t see this train stopping, the way Kirby goes about his business of recruiting, the way he goes about the way he practices, the way he structures his program this is built to last. And Kirby will continue to keep that train on the tracks, for sure.”
