As we enter the final week of college football's regular season, we still don't have a runaway Heisman winner. While it seems that either Washington QB Michael Penix, Oregon QB Bo Nix, or LSU QB Jayden Daniels most likely to win the award, it feels like it would be a big mistake if Georgia QB Carson Beck isn't at least in New York for the Heisman ceremony.
Carson Beck is seventh overall in passing yards and sixth in completion percentage, while leading a Georgia offense that is fourth overall in yards per game and fifth overall in points per game. He's done all that while being his best in recent weeks facing three consecutive ranked opponents in No. 12 Missouri, No. 9 Ole Miss, and No. 18 Tennessee.
If you include the win over a ranked Kentucky team as well, Beck has gone for 11 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in games where UGA faced ranked teams, and has also led the team to some good comeback wins earlier in the season.
Last year, despite having no real chance to win the award, Georgia QB Stetson Bennett received and invite and it feels like a similar situation this year as Carson Beck, with seemingly no shot to win the trophy, may get invited to New York in honor of the incredible season he's had.
