DawgNation’s Connor Riley joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the injuries to multiple starters that could affect the Dawgs in their opening game against Clemson in Charlotte.
When asked about how many of these injuries will affect the game against Clemson, Riley said the number could be more than one.
“I think these are probably the first two that are legitimately going to impact this Georgia-Clemson game,” Riley said. “Arik Gilbert is a whole separate story that I’m sure we’ll talk about but the Darnell Washington and Tykee Smith news is much more impactful for Georgia in this Week 1 game.

“Kearis Jackson, I expect him to be back there on the field. Jermaine Burton, I would expect him to play as well. Those guys have both practiced this week. Warren Ericson I don’t know if he’s going to start at center, it depends how comfortable he feels snapping the ball with a cast on his hand. But I expect he’s going to play and be a valuable piece to that Georgia offensive line regardless of whether or not he can actually snap it.
"I do think Georgia feels comfortable with the way that is trending that we might see him out there. But the Darnell Washington and Tykee Smith ones with what the expectation is with these injuries, these are probably the first two. And unfortunately I think these guys are really important players to that Clemson game, where these guys are probably going to be out for that contest.”
