Defense, not QB, biggest question for Georgia in 2022

Stetson Bennett announced he will return for his sixth and final season with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Bennett threw for 29 touchdown passes to seven interceptions in 12 starts in the Dawgs' Championship year. While some thought that he would ride off into the sunset after bringing home Georgia's first title in 41 years, Bennett will instead join a packed quarterback room.

Who will be the Bulldogs' starter next season: Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, Gunner Stockton or the returning Bennett?

While many are concerned with the answer to that question, the Midday Show with Andy and Randy said the bigger question is Georgia's defense.

"Georgia's biggest problem going into next year isn't Stetson Bennett and that damn offense," Randy McMichael said. "That offensive line is going to be better than it was this past year."

"Georgia's biggest issue next year is rebuilding the historically great front seven. That's it. They've got to rebuild that. And I love me some DT Jalen Carter and I love me some LB Nolan Smith--if you mean to tell me that's all you got, then Georgia's going to be in trouble on that side of the ball."

DL Jordan Davis, DL Devonte Wyatt, LB Nakobe Dean, DL Travon Walker, S Lewis Cine, LB Channing Tindall, LB Quay Walker and DB Derion Kendrick are all defensive stars Kirby Smart has to replace.
