Do coaches have concerns about Name, Image, Likeness?

College football writer Chris Vannini joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the confusion surrounding the Name, image and likeness bill that is seemingly coming to college football after some states have already passed the bill and how do college coaches feel about NIL?

Vannini talked about how coaches in the game feel about the NIL coming to college sports.

“Coaches are concerned for a few reasons. The first aspect is in recruiting, the idea that boosters are going to promise sponsorships in recruiting,” Vannini said. “Essentially to get players to come to their school that’s assuming we all know there’s under the table cheating going on in a lot of places in college football already this would in some ways bring some of it above board.

“There’s also concerns is the player going to be completely focused, are they going to spend more time on their youtube channel or their social media trying get a sponsorship deal then they are actual football.”
