Georgia awaits its official placement in Tuesday's College Football Playoff rankings, but even without knowing where the Dawgs stand, they know where they stand. If Georgia beats Georgia Tech on Friday, the Dawgs will be in the Playoff.
Georgia has the SEC title game against the winner of Texas-Texas A&M, a game in which the Dawgs could secure themselves a first-round bye. But even if they were to lose that game, they know if they beat Georgia Tech the committee won't penalize them so much that they would miss the Playoff entirely.
Georgia Tech is having one of its best seasons in recent memory under Brent Key and Georgia does seem gettable compared to previous seasons. UGA needs to keep that in mind with a secured playoff spot on the line if the team wins.
