The Georgia Bulldogs are not only hungry to get back to the College Football Playoff and win another National Championship, but they are also hungry to have another Heisman Trophy winner. The Dawgs last Heisman Trophy winner dates back to when Herschel Walker won the award back in 1982, but this year the Dawgs have another prime candidate to win the Heisman in quarterback Carson Beck, and earlier today, Co-Owner and Publisher of Dawgs HQ, Co-Chairman of the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame, and Co-Host on The Steakhouse Rusty Mansell told The Morning Shift why Georgia is "all in" on trying to help Carson Beck win the Heisman.
“Georgia is about all in on this Heisman candidate, and it won’t be too much longer and you’re going to see how all in they are.” Mansell said.
Beau Morgan then followed up and asked Rusty if the Dawgs are all in on trying to help Beck win the Heisman to prove a point about staying committed to the program, and while Mansell said that was a big part of it Rusty gave another big reason as well.
“It’s also going to prove a point to if you come to Georgia you can win the Heisman Trophy, and you can have all these things, and you can have all these billboards, and you can have your face on a picture in Time Square and all those things.”
Top High School Football players know that if they come to Georgia they’ll have a chance to win a national championship, and that they’ll have a legitimate shot to go to the NFL. However, in today’s world of college football NIL is also important, and the player’s personal brand is now more important than ever.
Kirby Smart and the rest of the Georgia coaching staff knows if they can also produce Heisman Trophy winners they’ll pull in that many more recruits because obviously when players win Heisman trophies NIL deals come with it, so Carson Beck winning a Heisman Trophy will not only be good for him, but also good for the Georgia Bulldogs Football program, and that’s why they are all in.
