Georgia Bulldogs add former LSU transfer Arik Gilbert

Former LSU tight end Arik Gilbert decided to play a little closer to home, announcing his decision to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Gilbert, the former five-star from Marietta High School, opted out of the 2020 season after starting eight games for the Tigers. He entered the transfer portal on January 5 after he decided to part ways with LSU.

“Coming home, I believe it was a smart decision to come home. I wanted to be with and near my family,” Gilbert said, via Dawgs247. "I have been missing all of family and now both of my Grandmothers will be able see me play in person too.”

Gilbert initially announced he was transferring to Florida back on January 31, but a month later, on February 28, decided he would re-enter the portal.

Brandon Adams of DawgNation.com joined the Midday Show to talk about the addition of Gilbert to an already prolific offense.
