On Tuesday, the Gatorade Company continued its 37th year of recognizing student athletes across the country and named Rabun County High School quarterback, Gunner Stockton, the 2021 Gatorade Georgia Football Player of the Year.

Stockton, a Georgia Bulldogs commit, led the Wildcats to an 11-2 overall record this season and a Georgia High School Association state playoff berth, in which they advanced to the quarterfinals.

During his tenure at Rabun County, the Wildcats captured four consecutive region championships with Stockton leading the offense since his freshman season. In his final season with the Wildcats, Stockton threw for 4,134 yards with 55 touchdowns and added 956 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.

Stockton recently broke Trevor Lawrence’s career passing touchdown record when he threw his 162nd touchdown pass back in November against Union County. He finished his career with 177 passing touchdowns.
