While the Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes will not face each other in the 2025 season, Kirby Smart has suffered a loss to Mario Christobal as the nation’s number one offensive tackle in the class of 2026, Jackson Cantwell announced on Tuesday his commitment to the Hurricanes.

Heading into Tuesday, Smart’s Bulldogs were a heavy favorite to land Cantwell however per reports, Miami began gaining ground as the day progressed ahead of the offensive tackle’s commitment announcement, who stated ‘relationships’ with Cristobal and Miami assistant head coach and offensive line coach, Alex Mirabal, were a big reason for his decision despite Georgia getting the last visit with him.

“You can go to Miami and get to the NFL, we know that, but with what with Kirby’s got cooking, not trying to sound like a homer, and knowing that you could plug right in and you’re going to be a rock star from the jump, I think it comes down to the dollars,” Mike Bell said on Tuesday as to why he believes the Bulldogs lost our on Cantwell while he and Abe Gordon shared their thoughts.
