On Thursday Randy McMichael and Robb Tribble (in for Andy Bunker) were joined by producer Brian Gebhardt to talk about the future of college football after the 11 College Football Playoff Board of Managers met on Monday to discuss the potentially restructuring of college football without the NCAA in the future. It was just a brief zoom meeting but it does have the college football world buzzing.
“Now we are getting to the point where this is full on minor league football…this is going to happen, it’s a matter of time. Do you think kids are like not going to have to go to school, anything like that? NIL stuff, school, anything like that…they just literally going to be playing for the University of Georgia or whatever it is or do you think they are still going to have to go to school?” asked Brian.
“I think they are still going to have to go to school…I don’t see how they are going to be able to get around the ‘student’ part of student-athlete,” Randy replied.
“But you are starting your own governing body,” Brian added.
“Everything in college football is about that bread (money)…I don’t think they would put that (taking away student-athlete) on it. Just to take that part of it, being the student. Even though we all know what it is,” Randy replied.
You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p.
