Georgia opened the season with an impressive 10-3 victory over Clemson in Charlotte that has kickstarted national championship discussion.
While Georgia's defense was outstanding totaling seven sacks and leading to the games only touchdown (a 74-yard pick-6 from Christopher Smith), the offense left a bit to be desired.
Heisman-hopeful JT Daniels was only able to muster 135 yards through the air and his leading receiver was a tight end who had fewer than 50 yards.
DawgNation's senior UGA beat writer Mike Griffith discusses just how good Georgia is and where they dramatically need to improve if they want to beat Alabama.
"Got to get some receivers back. You gotta have some big-time players, X's and O's are one thing, but you got to have players," explains Griffith." We're probably talking about the No. 2 team in the country right now, everybody knows how close Georgia is to being No. 1. The good news is you have all season to grow into it. If you get playmakers on the perimeter you're going to win a national championship if you're Georgia this year."
So right now it seems pretty clear that Georgia is the 2nd best team in the country after one week, but are they closer to Alabama than they are to Ohio State, Oklahoma, or Clemson?
