Did the City of Atlanta win its third championship in two years after Georgia Bulldogs defeated TCU on Monday night, 65-7? Or can the city not lay claim to anything won outside of its official city borders?
That was the question asked by Steak and Sandra on this morning's Steakhouse, which started off as a simple tweet from Steak. And what followed was conversation on why they feel that Atlanta can say that this city has won another title.
"They're an Atlanta team", Steak believes. "Did the Pistons not win it for Detroit when it was the Palace at Auburn Hills? The Patriots play 10 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island."
This brings us to age old debates - "where exactly does Atlanta end and Atlanta begin?" Within the city itself, you've got four professional sports franchises in the Hawks, Braves, Falcons, and United. Georgia Tech is located in Midtown, Georgia State in downtown Atlanta. But what about Athens? Located seventy-two miles east of the city, can that still be considered an "Atlanta Sports Title"?
