Kirby Smart isn’t worried about complacency at Georgia

Brad Crawford & The Morning Shift discuss why Coach Smart & the Dawgs don't get complacent

Day two of SEC Media Days featured Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, and even though Smart and the Dawgs are coming off back-to-back national championships Kirby Smart still isn’t worried about his players getting complacent.

“We look for two characteristics, people that love football and people that embrace a selfless role. Once you do that they don’t have complacency because they have the right hardwiring.” Smart said.

National College Football writer for 247 Sports, Brad Crawford, joined The Morning Shift earlier today and talked about Kirby Smart staying consistent with his message about complacency, and basically telling the media what he told them last year.

“He said that Georgia as a national elite program will always be the hunter and not the hunted,” Crawford said. Kirby Smart also gave another great quote when talking about complacency yesterday saying “better never rests”.

The message Kirby gave to his players last season seemed to work, and there’s no reason it shouldn’t work this season. With a favorable schedule, a lot of returning starters, and what should be a non complacent team the Bulldogs are in prime position to win their third straight national title.
