The countdown is nearing its end and the Georgia Bulldogs are getting set to kick off their season on Saturday when they host Marshall in Athens and look to prove they are an improved team from a season ago to which head coach, Kirby Smart, believes ‘fire, passion and energy’ has to bewhat motivates their performances this season.
“If the players are bringing the fire, and the passion and the energy, I’d like to Kirby (Smart) bring it with his play calling,” Dawg Nation’s Mike Griffith said on Monday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Dukes and Bell to preview the Bulldogs’ preparing for the 2025 season and explained why he believes Smart has to be held accountable for Georgia’s offensive struggles.
“We keep defaulting to Mike Bobo and we have to stop doing that. We have to stop pretending that Kirby Smart doesn’t know the game plan and that this isn’t what Kirby wants,” Griffith continued as he shared why Smart, who is beginning his 10th season as Georgia’s head coach, must shoulder some of the blame should Georgia fail to produce efficiently.
“At some point, you have to realize that this is Kirby Smart’s offense and he hires people to run it the way he wants it run,” Griffith said.
