For the last few seasons Georgia Football has been looked at in a group of their own. They are a step behind Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State, but a step above Oklahoma, Oregon, and other pseudo-contenders. That could be about to change.
#3 Georgia travels to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to face #2 Alabama in a game that could change the discussion about whether Georgia is a true title contender.
It’s no secret that Nick Saban is undefeated against his former assistants, and that includes 5 wins against Kirby Smart, but UGA out determined to change that statistic come 8pm on Saturday night.
John and Hugh take a look at the biggest game of the weekend in College Football and why it’s such an important obstacle for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs to get past.
“For Georgia it isn’t about the playoff, it’s about the hurdle,” says John Fricke. “They haven’t beaten Alabama since 2007. In order for Georgia to take that next step the mental hurdle is Alabama.”
“If they get this game this weekend, nationally, Georgia will be looked at differently,” says Hugh Douglas.
