There have been a lot of positives in Athens under Kirby Smart, but one of the more-glaring negatives have been the issues his players have had in recent years getting behind the wheel of a car. In 2023 alone there were three DUI stops and at-least 15 stops for speeding for Bulldogs players, and RB Trevor Etienne is the latest with a legal issue while driving.

Etienne was arrested early on Sunday morning (approx. 4:35am) and was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane/improper and affixing materials that reduce visibility of windshield according to online records. While there is a pretty good chance the charges get reduced due to the DUI charge being classified as "less safe", if it is not and Trevor Etienne is convicted, it will impact the Georgia season in at least one way, if not more ways.

If Trevor Etienne is ultimately convicted of his DUI charge, the school's athletics association policy deems that he would be suspended for one game, in this case, the team's opener at Mercedes Benz Stadium against Clemson.
