After having a record breaking fifteen players, from the National Champion Georgia Bulldogs, selected in the 2022 NFL draft less than a month ago, it would natural to assume that next year’s UGA roster might have a small decline in NFL ready talent.
But we all know the old saying about “assuming.”

When Bill Bender, National CFB writer from The Sporting News joined The Jon Chuckery Show to take an early look at the upcoming season, he was quick to agree with Chuckery that the Bulldogs defense could once again produce multiple first round caliber talents.
“On the defensive side of the ball, obviously some more first round picks coming”, said Bender when pointing out what he expects should be the future of several UGA players.
Bill went on to mention specifically that, “Jalen Cater, Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo, and probably a couple more” are just a few members of the UGA roster that should have bright NFL futures if all things go according to plan.
The credit can only be given to Head Coach Kirby Smart, and his staff for continuing to bring in top ranked recruiting classes.
The success that UGA is having in the recruitment part of the process has put them in a position to compete year in and year out with the blue bloods of the college football landscape.
“They’re going to be right in the mix with Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and the other powers that have dominated in the CFB Playoff era” commented Bender when recognizing how high Kirby Smart has elevated the UGA program.
The Bulldogs will begin defense of their National Championship on Saturday Sept 3, 2022 when they play Oregon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.
