On Tuesday, the anticipated first reveal of the 2024 College Football Playoff rankings was released and with this marking the first season of the new 12-team format, was accompanied by a playoff bracket prediction. The Georgia Bulldogs were ranked at No. 3 and seeded at No. 2 if the playoffs were to begin today.

However, with four games remaining on their schedule, including Saturday’s showdown with Ole Miss followed by Tennessee next week, and the questionable performance of Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, The Steakhouse discussed the likelihood of the Bulldogs being able to win out the remainder of their regular season games and throughout the playoffs to a national title win.

“We’ve seen enough of Georgia so far this year to realize what ails them,” Steak Shapiro said on Wednesday during his discussion with Sandra Golden as he shared his thoughts on why losing players like Brock Bowers and Ladd McConky to the NFL and players expected to be impactful this season being excused from the team due to disciplinary reasons in addition to Beck’s play this season gives reason to anticipate another loss for the Bulldogs.

“Georgia to me, it’s clear we are not running the table,” Shapiro said as he explained why he believes it would be difficult for Georgia to win the national championship with a stumble along the way prior to the playoffs beginning.

“I’ve watched this team and I just don’t think that’s in the cards," Shapiro said. "I think if you watched us against Florida, if you watched us against Kentucky, if you watched us against Alabama, if you watched us at times against Texas, if you watched us against Mississippi State, it’s not a team that’s going 6-0.”

Shapiro added he believes the Bulldogs could very well win the national championship, but “they're just not as good as they were last year."
