The Georgia Bulldogs will go into 2022 looking to defend the first National Championship won by the school in over 40 years.
When the Bulldogs take the field against the Oregon Ducks at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, most expect for returning signal caller Stetson Bennett to be under center for coach Kirby Smart’s offense.

Bennett will be in his final year of eligibility when the season starts, and waiting patiently to compete to replace him when he leaves, or if for some reason Smart feels the Bulldogs just need a change of pace, are a full stable of highly touted quarterbacks, all with multiple years of eligibility remaining.
Those names include redshirt freshman Brock Vandagriff, a former 5-star recruit who played his prep football only a few miles away from the Athens campus, and true freshman Gunner Stockton who finished his Georgia high school career with several state passing records.
So if you are the #1 rated QB in the class of 2023, aka Arch Manning, would knowing the Bulldogs already have several highly rated QBs on the roster deter you from choosing the Dawgs?
When Dukes and Bell asked college football reporter Tony Barnhart that exact question he replied, “If you are a QB, are you going to walk into that QB room?”
Barnhart also went on to say, “Maybe you have the confidence to say I’m going to walk in and beat them all out”, when referring to the mindset a new QB will have to have when coming to Athens next year.
Kirby Smart has already offered the young Arch Manning the opportunity to play football for the Bulldogs, only time will tell if the elite prospect will welcome the competition waiting for him in the Athens locker room.
