As the College Football Playoff approaches, the looming questions for many Georgia Bulldogs’ fans has been whether or not Stetson Bennett will be the starter on Friday when the Dawgs take on Michigan. Well that question may have been answered as Georgia offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, told reporters in a press conference that Bennett gives them the best chance to get the win over the Wolverines on Friday.
“If you look at the plays he’s made, he’s made championship plays,” Monken said during the presser, adding that he has “no doubt” that Bennett can lead Georgia to a national championship. Monken’s statement all but confirmed what many people wondered.
Another question though, why is the starting quarterback decision in the hands of Monken?
On Tuesday, Nick Kayal spoke with Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports and asked if Sallee was “buying” the fact it appears the QB call is Monken’s.

“I do think Kirby has taken a way more hands-off approach with the offense,” Sallee told Nick. However he added that he believes that Smart will be the one to “ultimately make the decision” as to who will lead the Bulldogs’ offense on Friday night. Sallee noted that he believes that depending on the situation Georgia may find itself in will determine whether or not Smart will step in and make the call on Daniels and Bennett.
