While the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have been focused on preparing for the Georgia State Panthers, who they will host on Saturday, their season opening win over Florida State is still the topic of conversation throughout college sports media. And as it is too early to tell how this season is going to shape up, the Yellow Jackets have now found themselves in early predictions by some as a conference title winner.
“I was down at Tech a couple Fridays ago before they left for Dublin and Brent Key is a stud. Buster Faulkner’s a stud, that new DC is really good,” ESPN columnist, Mark Schlabach said as he shared with Steak Shapiro his thoughts on Georgia Tech after visiting with the program. “I said going into the Florida State game, if Haynes King takes care of the football, they’re going to have a chance and I don’t think an ACC title is out of the question,” Schlabach added.
As Shapiro noted his agreeance with Schlabach, the ESPN analyst went on to state that he believes staying consistent “week to week”, an area they have struggled with in the past, this season will play in favor of the Yellow Jackets reaching the conference title game. “That’s what’s plagued them the last couple of years,” Schlabach added.
