The tension of the high-stakes MLB postseason boiled over for Padres utility man Jurickson Profar on Friday night, when he lost his cool after striking out on a check-swing in the the ninth inning of Game 3 of the NLCS.

With two men on base and no outs, Profar worked a full count against Phillies ace reliever Seranthony Dominguez. The right-hander delivered a 99-mph fastball well inside to Profar, who offered a half-swing while jutting out of the way of the pitch.
Phillies catcher JT Realmuto immediately appealed to third-base umpire Todd Tichenor, who promptly gave the punchout sign.
Profar immediately blew a gasket, slamming down his helmet and directing what appeared to be some choice four-letter words at Tichenor. He was then ejected.
After the game, Profar told reporters that he hadn't yet seen the replay, but he was "pretty sure" that he didn't swing. He added that there was "no chance" that he would be suspended for the scene.
"MLB doesn't suspend people for that, and we play a game, and we play with emotion," he said. "We don't play soft. We play to win."
On social media, fans and journalists had some fun with Profar's emotional display:
