It did not take long for the Matthew Stafford Hall of Fame debate to gain some steam following the quarterback’s Super Bowl victory on Sunday, but his wife wants everyone to just chill out.

Kelly Stafford took to Instagram on Tuesday night to try and pour water on the debate, telling everyone to just let her husband enjoy this moment.

“Can y’all just let him enjoy this?!,” she wrote. “It went from Matthew can’t win, to Matthew can’t win against winning teams, to Matthew can’t win big games, to Matthew can’t win playoff games, to Matthew can’t win it all…

“And now…the debate on the HOF? We shouldn’t be talking about the HOF because he isn’t done playing this game. If you don’t believe he is a HOFer..I can’t wait for him to prove you wrong in his remaining years….just like he did IN ONE YEAR to everyone who said all the things listed above. So let’s table this talk until he actually retires? Thank you.”

The Stafford Hall of Fame debate was fueled earlier in the week when Richard Sherman went on Twitter arguing that the standards have become too low and that Stafford has not done enough in his career to warrant a spot in Canton.

Stafford, who just turned 34, has just one Pro Bowl season (2014) but is 12th on the all-time passing yards and touchdown leaders and can easily crack the top 10 before he retires.

The Super Bowl ring also helps boost his resume, which as Kelly noted is still incomplete.
