The Cowboys let Mike McCarthy's contract run out, and while it's viewed as one of the better jobs in the NFL, is it really?
NFL Insider Mark Schlereth isn't sold on the attractiveness of the Cowboys job due to Jerry Jones and thinks there's only one guy right now who can handle the role.
"Who's going to be respected in the locker room? Ultimately nobody because you're never give anybody the power that's required," details Mark Schlereth. "If you're not going to empower Bill Parcells, there's nobody you'll ever actually give power to. There's really only one guy that makes sense.
"Everybody gets enamored with young guys. You're going to bring in a young guy that you're not going to empower, players will walk all over that guy."
continues Schlereth. "There's one guy that makes sense, Pete Carroll. Carroll would have a certain level of respect because of what he's done. You go to Dallas and you don't get to run the race, I'd rather coach in New Orleans."
